City of Liberty Police Department is looking for a few good volunteers

LIBERTY, Mo. - The Liberty Police Department is currently seeking applications for the Volunteers in Police Service program. Citizens who live or work in Liberty are eligible to apply for this program.

Currently the Police Department plans to use volunteers to assist police records technicians with data entry, filing, taking phone-in police reports and other tasks as assigned by the unit commander. Additionally, they will also be used to assist with the daily operation of the animal shelter performing such tasks as cleaning the shelter and photographing animals to be placed on adoption websites.

Volunteers in Police Service programs exist throughout the United States and are designed to assist agencies in completing necessary functions at reduced cost. Volunteers in these programs are unpaid and donate their time and energy to the department for these tasks.

Applications are available from the Police Records unit at City Hall, 101 E. Kansas.  The application also can be downloaded from the Police Department's website at www.ci.liberty.mo.us/LPD.  Completed applications should be returned to City of Liberty Police Records, 101 E. Kansas, Liberty, Mo. 64068.
