Patrol
The Patrol Division of the Liberty Police Department is in operation 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
There are currently 27 officers assigned to four squads who are supervised by a sergeant and a lieutenant. These officers enforce City, State and Federal laws and respond to a variety of emergency and non-emergency dispatched calls for service.
Officers cover four districts totaling 27 square miles and populated by nearly 30,000 residents. Their duties range from making arrests and responding to crimes in progress, to taking reports on incidents that have already occurred. When they are not responding to calls for service, officers are proactive in crime prevention by patrolling neighborhoods and assisting citizens. Patrol officers also assist other departments within the City when requested.
