I received a Shut-Off Notice, what should I do?

Pay your bill immediately! You can make a payment at City Hall, 101 E Kansas St, over the phone (816.439.4460) or sign on to our website (https://water.ci.liberty.mo.us/ ) and make a payment.    

 

I noticed that my bill was estimated.  How is that calculated?

It is estimated by averaging two years of prior consumption.

How is my bill calculated and what is included in my monthly bill?

Your monthly bill includes water, sewer, trash and recycling. The sewer is calculated on a flat rate of $6.26 per 1000 gallons of water consumption, trash is $10.52 per month, recycling is $3.03 per month and your water is on a descending rate based on consumption. What is a winter water average?

A winter water average benefits customers by allowing for an average sewer consumption to be billed during the summer months when customers are using more water to maintain yards and gardens. Your winter water average is based on your average water consumption during the months of November, December, January and February. It is applied to your account in April.

Where can I pay my bill?

There are a number of ways to pay your city utility bill.

 

Payments can be made by Mail:  Please attach your stub and write your account number in the memo section of your check. The mailing address is City of Liberty, PO Box 232, Liberty, MO 64069.

 

Payments can be made by Auto Bank Draft:  To set this up, you will need to come to City Hall to fill out an ACH form and bring a voided check.

 

NEW - Payments can be made OnlineClick here to set up an account to your bill on-line. You can pay with a debit/credit card or check!

 

Payments can be made in Person at City Hall: at the cashier’s window inside City Hall, 101 E Kansas St.

 

Payments can be made using the drop box: The night drop is collected at 8:00 a.m. on weekdays. The night drop is located across from the Liberty Police Department on Missouri St.

Does the City of Liberty offer payment arrangements?

We offer a one-time promise-to-pay agreement to extend your payment up to two weeks.

 

Is there a fee for online payments or bank drafts?

NO FEES! Unlike many communities across the metropolitan area, the City of Liberty does not charge a convenience fee for this service.

Do you charge a fee for late payments?

The fee for paying your bill late is 10% of what is past due for water and sewer.

 

Is there a fee if my service is shut-off for non-payment?

The City charges a $25 reconnect fee and a $75 additional deposit, plus your past due amount. If you do not pay before 4 p.m. and want your service reconnected that day, there is an additional $25 overtime charge.
