The Parks and Open Space Division is responsible for the following:

Mowing and trimming all parks and rights-of-way Maintaining the dog park, skate park, and tennis courts Trails planning and surface maintenance on more than 10 miles of asphalt trails and 6 miles of primitive trail.   Maintaining shelters, ballfields, playgrounds, spraygrounds, restrooms, and other park amenities Planting and maintaining landscaping in medians, bumpouts, roundabouts, and parks Building maintenance for the Community Center and Frank Hughes Library

Coordinating a community forestry program, including planting, care, and removal of park trees and street trees Overseeing management of New Hope, Fairview, and Mt. Memorial Cemeteries  Snow removal on City parking lots and designated roads Working with Planning Division to approve park dedications and landscaping plans for new developments, as well as update the Parks and Open Space Master Plan
